WHAT IS A CERTIFIED DIVORCE COACH? 

A professionally trained individual who works with clients going through all stages of divorce. A CDC Certified Divorce Coach® has additional training specific to divorce, including the emotional, financial, legal and parenting aspects that are unique to this life-changing phase of one's life. CDC Divorce Coaches® have training beyond the standard International Coaching Federation's level of professional coaching education. Not every Divorce Coach is trained at this level. In addition to their original certification, CDC Divorce Coaches® must maintain a level of professionalism and adhere to a strict code of ethics governed by their certifying body as well as participate in ongoing continuing education. 

WHAT DOES A DIVORCE COACH DO?

  • Provides education and resources so a client understands their options for going through the divorce process.

  • Has a team of key individuals ready to assist the client when they need it.

  • Has specific tools & techniques to help clients avoid the pitfalls of decision making in emotionally charged situations.

  • Saves clients money by providing support, clarity, organization, confidence, and courage to navigate the divorce journey.

  • Steps in as a sounding board and thinking partner helping clients communicate with their spouses, other divorce professionals and children.

  • Can accompany you to appointments with other members of your legal team if desired.

  • Can provide a custom approach to meeting your needs and goals for your divorce journey and beyond.
